  • The Childbearing Year – a great resource for herbal remedies

    Families who have decided to have unassisted pregnancies and births take full responsibility for their own care during these crucial times. Many women focus on healthy living and a wholesome, balanced diet as the primary means of prenatal care. Those who do need a little extra help often turn to herbal medicine for their care. Herbs are accessible, potent, and you don’t need a medical license to make use of their powers. But don’t you just wish there was a comprehensive herbal manual for pregnancy and birth sometimes? A place you can turn to in times of need, and simply in order to prepare for the unexpected?

    Such a manual does, in fact, exist. It is called Wise Woman Herbal for The Childbearing Year and was written by a herbalist who is appropriately named Susun Weed (Is that her real name? One has to wonder! It would be one big coincidence if it was…). I’ve been fortunate enough to receive a copy of this wonderful book to review, and I am delighted to share my conclusions with you!
