  • Ten things everyone should know about unassisted homebirth

    Participating in the Natural parenting Carnival has been a lot of fun for me.     Does it really take a village to raise a child? According to many, this famous saying is an absolute truth. There is no doubt that society impacts the development of children in so much more than a passing fashion. The shared attitudes of any society leave its imprints on all of us, consciously or sub-consciously, in many big and small ways which will stay with us forever. Society – the village – is all around us, and it will play a role in a growing child’s development, both positively and negatively. But does that mean that it takes a village to raise a child?

  • Parenting as a joint venture

    My two children, who are now four and two years old, never cease to amaze me. They are constantly and visibly learning, soaking up everything they encounter like little sponges. I might have started my life as a parent thinking that I would play a large role in my children’s development, but the truth is a little different. Everything in life is educational and while my kids might take note of all the things I do, they learn all by themselves.

  • Traditions? What traditions?
